When Your ComeBack Isn’t An Option

Dreams of champions don’t look like this.!!

Life has a way of punching you a blow when you least expect. You get pregnant when you did not plan for it.
You loose your job when you’ve just gotten married with a vow to take care and provide for your new family. You are served with divorce papers, just when you thought your spouse was happy. You business competitor introduces a new strategy in the market that wipes you out. The truth is, sometimes, you will be knocked down.

When you get knocked, and your dreams seem shattered, Face down on the floor , It isn’t the time for crazy ninja maneuvers.

It’s a time for clear thinking and intentional action. But this position is where we sometimes find ourselves on ‘Ground Zero level’. Our understanding becomes little more than an awareness of our existence. And Pain. For a moment at least, that’s all we know. (Does anyone know what am talking about?)

‘The Spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit, Who can bear’
                                                                                                        Ref: Bible-Proverbs 18:14 KJV

In such moments, with vision blurred and confidence rocked, we need air in our lungs, calm in our mind, and belief beyond the circumstances.
But how?
STOP!

When your reset button has been punched. Just stop. For an instance at least, do nothing. Let the calm return.

Then…
BREATHE!

Fill those lungs with oxygen. Get blood flow back to the head

And…
SEE!

What do you see? Not with your eyes but within your mind? Regain clarity and focus. Even if you can’t  see 12-inches in front of your nose, you can regain perspective and belief in your inner champion. See the dream again. The dream is always bigger than the circumstances. The champion is always tougher than the challenges.

THINK!

This is an opportunity to think differently. Methodically. With intention. Asking the right questions. What should be changed? Where is the opportunity? There’s always an opportunity if you’re ready for it.
So how can this moment be Leveraged?

Now..
MOVE!

Seize the moment to take responsibility and move toward a better outcome. Even if it’s just an inch upward, you’ve got to make the monumental move to stand back up. In the words of Louis L’Amour “Victory is won not in miles but in inches. Win a little now, hold your ground, and later, win a little more.”

It’s what we do when we’re down that counts. This is the critical moment. Anyone can stand strong when the game of life is going our way. But who are we when the pain comes? When it isn’t going as planned and we’re knocked repeatedly on our butt?

When You Find Yourself On The Floor, Continue To Dream Big And Gather Yourself To Stand Back Up. You Really Can. Champions Do It All The Time. So Can You.

‘For a just man falls seven times, and rises again:…’
                                                                                                     Ref: Bible-Provers 24:16 KJV

It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get back up.

Action Without Audience (Quiet Professionals)

Those that excel understand it takes action without an audience. They hone their craft without fanfare. They show up early, leave late, and turn off the lights without applause.

These solo actions define who’s really willing to put in the effort necessary to go from middle-class to world-class achievement.

David Rudisha is kenya’s WORLD 800m record-holder and the reigning IAAF World Athlete of the Year, I wonder how many times he has made the runs in solitude over the course of his career?

“The vision of a champion is bent over, drenched in sweat, at the point of exhaustion, when nobody else is looking.” ~ U.S. Soccer Champion Mia Hamm

True world-class champions don’t train for a few weeks. They understand real progress comes in small steady increments, not single heroic triumphs. The great American author Louis L’Amour said it this way, “Victory is won not in miles but in inches. Win a little now, hold your ground, and later, win a little more.” Our actions must be consistent and deliberate regardless of magnitude.

Its a funny thing, Genius, Genetics, and Luck tend to show up when we consistently bring the effort.

So write when no one is reading.
Sing when no one is listening.
Cold-call when no one is buying.
BE REMARKABLE when no one is watching.

It’s what we do when no-one is watching, applauding, appreciating or noticing that really comes to define who we are.

Tell us about the actions you’re consistently taking or will begin to take without waiting for an audience.
How hard do you go for it when no one’s watching?
